I had the great honor of co-hosting an event at our home for the President regarding policies and his election, which I helped spearhead. I will forever be grateful to be able to have been a part of this once in a lifetime opportunity and to have spent personal time with him

On several occasions I participated in strategy conferences, data and polling sessions, and helped organize the national campaign team meetings for the Congresswoman’s U.S. senatorial campaign. I also worked with her husband, Orange County Mayor, Jerry Demings. This was one of the best political experiences I have had as I learned about the operations of a national campaign and the logistics involved.

At one of the Mayor’s events I greeted guests as they entered and attended to their needs. I learned about his plans for Orlando and how his policies impact our community.

I greeted attendees and showed them around the event landscape to make them comfortable in anticipation of the State Attorney’s appearance. I was able to spend personal time with the State Attorney and hear her vision and goals. As I have an abiding interest in social and criminal justice, this experience provided me with a deeper understanding of the criminal justice system and the societal implications involved. 

Prior to the election of President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris was campaigning. My family and I attended her event. This event touched me because it made me recognize that I was witness to the history that was occurring in America, as she was going to be the first female Vice-President. That moment left an indelible imprint in my mind. I realized how many women before her and how she had helped pave the way for young women like me to excel and thrive. I know it’s important for me to help open the door for other girls and young women who are coming up after me.

Prior to the election of President Biden, President Obama held a rally in Orlando regarding the Biden administration. My family and I attended the event and it was influential to see such a powerful figure for America in person. I had actually had the opportunity to meet him when I was a child and have the autographed t-shirt he signed hanging in our hallway.
