Family

I’m extremely close with my family. They are the bedrock of my being; they have laid a foundation and instilled in me lifelong values. I credit a lot of morals to my parents and all they have taught me to be a selfless person, a loving person, to always be guided by my moral consciousness, and to never let the opinions of others get in the way of me being me!

My best friend, my sister Alessandra! We are less than two years apart and we are truly inseparable. We have two very different personalities but we love each other deeply. Without her, I don’t know where I would be!

My dad is of Lebanese descent who has a very big family. Even though all the family was born in the U.S. there remains a tradition that every year all the women of our family gather around Christmas time together for our annual baklava making. It allows all of the aunts,sisters and  cousins  to get together and share some special time around the holidays. We make hundreds of baklava that gets passed out and shared among the different families. It’s always a fun day, filled with family, a shared experience, laughing, catching up and of course the delicious baklava. Each family takes home several tins filled with baklava. My father always wants us to sneak in an extra one or two for him!

Let me introduce you to my four pets, two dogs and two pigs. The dogs are Cosmo and Moon and they are the most energetic and hysterical pets you will ever meet. They love to play endlessly, chase lizards, and even watch tv. They are my favorite cuddle buddies. Now for the pigs; their names are Cocoa Chanel and Louis Crouton…. Corny, I know, but fun. These girls are about two hundred pounds each and sleep inside our house each night and in the daytime have their own large penned area outside. Even though they have a large area they still have to be in pens. Otherwise, they’ll eat everything in sight. They are pigs after all.. I really do love my pets so much and they just add more wild personalities to our family.

I love the theater, but especially musicals. It’s something my family has exposed me to since a very young age. Though I don’t have the actor bug in me, I love, support, and appreciate the arts. Musicals are intended to tell a humorous, thought provoking, or inspirational story all set to the beauty of music.
